Nantucket's thoughts

Okay...here's the deal. I am (as you all know) very new to this whole blog thing. I can see that this could get to be a problem in my life!!!! As my profile will tell you, I am an ex-addict of drugs and alcohol. Thank God, I am now addicted to Him. The "deal" I mentioned at the beginning of this thing is...I have spent the last 3 hours reading blogs!!!! I read one, I go somewhere else, I go somewhere else, and so on and you know. I am feeling very grateful at this moment that I don't have a lot of days where I CAN spend 3 hours reading blogs! Carrie sue...nice photos (scary, but nice)...Mandie...ditto on the nice photos...Amazing Vern....thanks for not completing the rhyme on your comment...I...must...get...off...this...computer...NOW! God bless you all!
Something to ponder for all who read this...The Lord has blessed me with being a part of a jail ministry here in Wisconsin. I get to go inside and share God's Word with the inmates. It's a very cool thing that He lets me do! Sometimes, (well, most of the time) there is not much fruit coming out of there. At least not much that can be seen by those of us who minister there. We all know, however, that even if we are not able to see the fruit...fruit will appear. God's Word does not return void. So, we throw those seeds and keep on keepin' on and get blessed beyond words! The part I would like you all to ponder is this...next time you find yourself in the midst of a trial and it seems like your world is falling apart...think back on this. An inmate...in jail...awaiting sentencing of what could be a very long time...told me the other day..."I'm on a retreat here!" She is actually counting this as a blessing. She considers it a chance to draw closer to Jesus. Praise the Lord and the way He comforts us...if we would only LET Him. Amen?

So...God has taken me to the top of a mountain in the Philippines. I met some incredible brothers and sisters in Christ. I became acquainted with my cousin and his family and their work there. I got to visit Father Tropa's weird world, ride in a Jeepney, in a pedi-cab, on the back of a motorcycle with only 3 people on it (I saw up to 6 on one bike!), I got to swim in the ocean, see some of God's creatures we don't have here in the States (GE-CKO) and was blessed to be able to give my testimony to a group of young (20-something) Filipinos. I can't even imagine what the Lord has in store for me next! I'll keep ya posted.
